Hello everyone. If you are reading this, then you have found my blog. Using this blog, I will aim to inform and educate you about our lack of data security, and our declining state of privacy in the digital world, and why you should be concerned about it.
As the world moves online, so do we. With all of our personal information in tow. This includes basic things such as our names, dates of birth and pictures of us. However, it’s when information such as our addresses, and our phone numbers appear online that it becomes a concern. Basically, everything about you is somewhere out there, in the masses upon masses of data that makes up the web we know today. According to article 8 of the human rights act (1998); “everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence.” Therefore, I firmly believe it is of utmost importance that we are able to maintain our privacy as one of our basic human rights.
That’s why I will dedicate this blog to not only discussing the extent of which we are losing our privacy, but also to provide you with the basic information you will need to maintain the security of your data, and your privacy online.
Thanks for reading.
Will.
