This is a Blog about Bloggers. Please forgive the irony.
In more detail, Generation #Z is a university project investigating the impact of influencers on our everyday attitudes, decisions, and spending behaviours.
My name is Bethany Fisher- and I’m a media student with a penchant for online shopping despite my usually empty purse. Generation #Z is a project born out of the status quo of social media feeds, where brands have the ability to manipulate our buying behaviour through methods which escape the traditional one way marketing strategy.
Particularly in the Fashion industry- brands are turning to bloggers to reach beyond stereotypical advertising platforms. Using individuals who we can relate to on a personal level- we understand these people as friends and role models which we aspire to be like in our everyday lives. The development from celebrity endorsement to girl-next-door influence is something which is both fascinating and terrifying as we find ourselves entering deeper into the culture of consumerism which is being considered the ‘norm’.
Generation #Z aims to investigate the ethics behind bloggers as a marketing tool- and whether there is any escape from the world of advertising.
