You may think that shopping is all about going to your favorite shop and scanning the aisles. If that was too much of a hassle for you, here’s something even easier. It’g guilt free and even more addicting than real life shopping. All of you must now that if a shop is too far away to reach, online shopping is available. However, I’m sure that there are some you have never heard about before.
New Technology for shopping that could get you addicted:
Apple Pay
It may not be new but to it is starting to gain a lot of recognition as a new paying system. This service n 2014, in the USA. However, it started to spread around the world just a year ago. It may be old for some, but new to others so… If you don’t know what it is: it is a mobile payment that keeps your cards information on your iPhones. You can pay for your shopping just by scanning your phone on to the card readers.

Think about this for minute, how often do people use Apple Pay? When you think of people that are addicted to shopping using this service at the cashier, it becomes so much easier for them to just keep shopping. Luckily some countries have limits on how much they can spend at once, using their mobile devices, but it doesn’t stop you from the amount of times you “tap” it. How often do people count the amount of times they’ve “tapped” their phones towards the card reader? It becomes a problem even if you only buy in small amounts. Personally, I find it easier to buy small, cheap things than just buying one expensive item. I’ll just end up buying a lot of small, cheap things, which still leads to a shopping addiction. 🙁
Amazon Go
Amazon Go is a shop by Amazon where there is no cashier. wonder how to pay? Everything works with a mobile app. Just walk in to the shop get what you want and leave. It seems easy right? The shop is said to open early 2017, even I want to try it!! But have you ever thought of those that have a shopping addiction, I’d be in there everyday. Guilt free, no one looking at how much things I’ve got in my bag and just walking out. That must feel so good. The only backlash, I definitely wouldn’t look at the price. I’ve only just got used to looking at my credit card payments, now I don’t think I’ll make it out, without any damage to my bank account. What do you think?

Alibaba’s Buy+ VR System
On Single’s Day 2016, Alibaba came up with a new shopping experience that could change your way of shopping forever. They developed a new Virtual Reality (VR) system that can be used in the comfort of your own home. It’s perfect for people that hate shopping in general, just sit at home and do everything while sitting down. Zhuang Zhuoran, the director of research and development of Alibaba, even said that their goal is to “enhance [the] online shopping experience, making it more fun, more immersive and more experiential.” However, it’s like a black hole for addicts, if you ever thought it couldn’t get worse, it actually did. Just by using this, the guilt of having to go to the store is completely removed. For people that think this is a good idea, think again! It may be easy for people that don’t have any interest in buying a VR. How many people do you think, are going to fall in to the habit of shopping without even looking at the prices, or even how much they have in their banks before buying anything?
These new shopping methods are said to be open to the public early 2017. I wonder how this would change peoples shopping habits? Social Media has been advertising these technologies to the public and has been gaining much fame. I’m truly curious as to whether this will change peoples attitude towards shopping and whether this will enhance peoples shopping experience, leading to Oniomania?
