Its that Time Of the Month again: #TAMPONGIRL
Remember #TamponGirl?!
Before I begin, a bloody disclaimer… WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT MAY VARY
Here’s the link to the full video:
But why do such a thing, though?! What were her intentions? Is it an American thing maybe? Or is she going through a societal crisis where she is trying to impress her peers?
Many questions go through my head yet again.
Here I’ll go with my assumptions that by the majority of the responses I am aware of, most people are saying that this is purely for attention seeking purposes. Why do girls feel the need to go to extremes to get attention online?
As a result, the internet allows a sense of control over the content that can be posted by the user. This sense of power and control is what one would want to maintain. Anything can be accomplished through technology and the internet, including a glimpse of internet fame. Although, the internet has a funny way of making things last. As everything seems to be the same online, originality is what stands out the most.
Rather, pranks and funny videos have always been popular on social media and the main reason why people would use the internet as a source of entertainment. However, if you’re not successful with pranks, or naturally funny, then that is your personal issue! But then that resolves into doing something completely strange to get recognised. Hence, to make the headline you have to…
- You must stand out!
- Be the talk of the nation!
- Stand out from the crowd!
- Remember, originality is key!
- Be unique!
- You have to be confident!
- Try to take more risks!
- Suck a tampon! (JOKE)
Now, back to the topic of this blog. Why did SHE suck a tampon? Well, sorry to burst your bubble, no one knows. As a result, she may have gotten pressured into doing so. Maybe Truth and Dare? Maybe even bribed to do so. Who knows? Truly, herself.
For someone to post something ‘unique’ in today’s society, has made her stand out. Therefore making her internet famous. But females on the internet seem to be using the internet as their way of reaching the top. Vloggers, for example, start off by having a personal YouTube account and making videos. Due to that, next thing you know, those people become millionaires (Zoella, well done for your success, go on girl!) Women seem to feel pressured by society, as they feel inferior in the work industry. So to conclude, in result to be successful go to the internet and upload a video of you doing something weird.
I remember that video.. so disturbing! Seemed to me like an attention stunt..
I know right! :O
