Hey guys, I wanted to see what people think of bullying from a specialists point of view. A lot of the people and the stories I have been looking at are all from what the person experiencing the bullying has been thinking and feeling. Sometimes hearing it from a friends point of view helps but I felt that listening to what specialists opinion was really interesting.
Cyber bullying has a massive impact on an individuals self esteem as well as confidence. In this podcast about cyber bullying, the interviewers are talking about what cyber bullying is with authors Doctor Kowalski and Doctor Agatston.
They discuss how cyber bullying has affected school students, they are also promoting their book Bullying in the Digital age so if you’re interested in what you hear you can find it on amazon or google books. In the podcast they talk about internet safety, warning those who are online that the information that they put online, may never be able to come down. The victims had said to the doctors carrying out the research that they no longer wanted to go to school after receiving messages from fellow students. They said that the affect that cyber bullying has on a child can sometimes leave them with social anxiety, loss of self confidence and sometime transpires to victims taking their own life. We can change that!
Have a listen, what they talk about in this short part of the podcast is incredible. There are others out there in similar situations to those they mention here. You can’t imagine what they must be going through.
As I said if you’re interested in what they are saying have a read of the book, there is lots of information for parents and children growing up in this current digital age.
Hope that it helps.
Stay safe
