Some of the most influential individuals within this field include Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg and and Tyler Oakley. All three have made different contributions to the online community, but have been successful in the work they have achieved.

Tyler Oakley

The online presence that Tyler has not only influenced those who watch his videos but also individuals who belong to communities in the real world. That was something I really didn’t expect.” His online videos have become something for the public to relate to and they feel comfortable commenting, tweeting and even taking to Instagram to post picture to express how much of a positive effect Tyler has had on their lives.
U.S Election
The US Election has been prominent within the worldwide news in the later months of this year, and Tyler has been an active campaigner for Hilary Clinton. He used his online platforms to reach the public to encourage them to vote. People listen to him because of the previous work that he has done. He’s known within the LGBTQ community, and therefore wants to stand for their rights, which was something that Trump did not believe in. He even posted a video on his channel with Hilary Clinton herself!
Joe and Caspar
Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee are two other males who are dominating the online platform of YouTube. Combined they have over 10 million subscribers to each of their channels.
Joe is the sister of the internet sensation Zoella and Caspar is from South Africa. 2 completely normal guys, who have made a future and a fortune for themselves by posting videos of themselves online.
As a result of the huge influence they have created two films. ‘Hit the Road Europe’ and ‘Hit the Road USA’. Each of the films follows the duo around Europe and America and watches them encounter some tricks along the way. Take a look at the official trailer for ‘Hit the Road Europe‘!
YouTube Rewind
The influencers both male and female, have created such an influence across the world. They have started to dominate within our lives. We now turn to the online videos rather than trailing through websites for information. This has led to many of the online stars to feature in this years YouTube rewind video. The likes of Joe Sugg, Caspar Lee and Alfie Deyes feature alongside some of the ‘classic’ celebrities such as Jamie Oliver and James Corden.
#MadeForYou
Also, if this wasn’t all enough excitement for Joe and Caspar in one year, they have also been apart of the YouTube #MadeForYou campaign. The point of the campaign is to show the influencers to the world and the work that they have done. Richard Waterworth who is the marketing director for YouTube commented on the work of the influencers. He said that “The content that works [on YouTube] is very responsive and [the creators] create a two-way relationship with the audience.” Viewers are now able to see some of their favourite spread accross others forms of media and not just on their YouTube channels!
These two boys give the younger generation something to aspire to be like. The boys were part of an interview in 2014 at Vidcon, where they spoke about the pressures of being a role model.
Similar to the girls, it proves that the hard work pays off. Boys and girls who may still be in school or even at university are able to think that one day they will be as successful as these online celebrities purely down to the dedication that you put into something that you love.
