Adam Safta, born 30th May 1997, is an animal lover. During his childhood he owned many pets whom he looked after and loved. He was raised with a multi-cultural background and regularly travelled the world as a child becoming more aware of traditions and cultures. Due to his dad’s origin being Tunisian he visited his family over in Tunisia yearly. At a young age he saw his Arab family perform a ritual, which is common of the Muslim cultures, which involved the slaughter of a sheep during a family party. Adam had played with the sheep before the ceremony took place and was confused when his uncle told him not to’play with his food’. The true meaning of that saying later became apparent to him that evening, where he saw three of his uncles hold down the lamb as it struggled and then slit it’s throat. This broke Adam’s heart and was the reason he chose to become a vegetarian at the young age of 8.
Since then Adam has always cared for animal rights and their well being and care. He made his mum donate to many animal related charities and attempts to only buy cruelty free products (organic, free range, faux clothing and products that do not experiment or torture animals). In more recent years Adam has walked the streets of Bournemouth to feed the homeless, but more importantly the dogs he saw on the street with their owners. He has chosen to become an activist for animals rights. Later when the opportunity arose for him to create a blog for a university assignment he chose to focus on a topic he was passionate about which lead to the creation of this site – ‘Animals Lives Matter’ which was launched in late 2016.
Adam was raised in London under the religion of Roman Catholic. He attendedĀ ‘Saint Raphael’s Catholic Primary School‘. He went on to attend ‘The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School’ for his secondary school where he became very studious. Later he attended a performing arts school known as ‘Bishopshalt‘ for sixth form where he studied five A Levels and completed an EPQ. During his school years he won many awards such as best pupil, exemplary student, Mr Congeniality, most likely to be famous, media award and more. Also, he attended many activities outside of school such as cubs, theatre train, singing lessons, piano lessons, gardening as well as activities within school such as prom committee, student voice, student council and student prefect. Now he attends ‘Bournemouth University‘ where he studies ‘Communications and Media’ and hopes to graduate with his degree next year. During his time at university he learnt a lot as he moved away from home to become more independent and social. He currently shares a house with 13 house mates and loves being by the tranquil sea side. Throughout his life Adam has never been short of friends due to his sociable nature.
Adam is both a creative and analytical soul who believes in hard work. He has a summer job working as a gate steward for weddings and events at ‘Syon House‘. He also has completed work experience at ‘BBC‘ and ‘PA Consulting‘ due to his ambition to work in the media field. Lastly, he is a music and television fanatic who admires two icons – Lady GaGa and Miley Cyrus, who he does not just admire for their talent and artistry but also their activism in using their voice to liberate their fans and vocalise their beliefs.
