I am not going to lie- it took me a while to get used to the food in Thailand. I remember the struggle in first couple of weeks with my craving for European food. It was like standing in a shop full of beautiful clothes, but only wanting the most expensive one, which you cannot afford. And it’s almost the same thing since any food other than thai in Thailand is quite pricey. Well, at least for thai prices. So, a dish would cost £10 instead of the usual £1. Yes, that’s correct, I have not made a typo, a meal in Thailand (from decent restaurants as well) would cost £1.
So my journey with thai food started when a friend of mine introduced me to the famous Khao Soi.
The dish is a noodle soup from northern Thailand, particularly Chiang Mai. What makes this dish so delicious is the blend of tastes- coconut milk with spices, tangy curry and a creamy texture traditionally with chicken
