As an app it has reached extraordinary lengths with over 15o million people a day using it. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-06-02\/snapchat-passes-twitter-in-daily-usage\" target=\"_blank\">It has even overtaken Twitter in that sense.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Celebrities from far and wide are using the app day in and day out. Some use it as a communication device for their fans whilst others just use it for the fun of it. There are no rules on Snapchat and in just 24 hours all your thoughts, feelings and pictures you divulged just disappear.<\/p>\n<p>Check out my video below!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MORD1si4Djc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So in my vlog I came up with 5 ways that celebrities are utilising Snapchat and what the effect is. Here is a brief overview but watch the video for more info&#8230;and yes I use the dog filter at one point..couldn&#8217;t resist!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Filters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Filters are like that new toy that gets placed in a nursery one day and the adults just stand back and wait for them to notice the shiny, fun thing that has never been used or played with. Once their sights are on it, they all want a go. Snapchat releases new filters almost every day, many are relatable to the season, event and yes even football game (not a fan sorry). When an audience sees their favourite celebrity using the flower crown filter that they had just used and uploaded as their profile picture, it creates a connection between audience and fan. With all the filters available to everyone Snapchat is all about everyone, not just those verified individuals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Personal Life<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now I&#8217;m sure many of us have read a gossip magazine article about a celebrity and the story seems a bit over the top, &#8220;surely <em>that\u00a0<\/em>didn&#8217;t happen&#8221; we say. Well that&#8217;s where the app comes in. Celebrities have discovered that when they are in control they can post videos and photos explaining any situation and no one can twist it or change it to make a juicy headline.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lavish Events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are now at the forefront of the latest awards ceremonies, celebrity birthdays, even concerts. The immediacy of the app means that we can watch the action as it unfolds, blurring the line between reality and mediated reality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uk.complex.com\/pop-culture\/2016\/04\/celebrities-on-snapchat\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe whole experience feels much more like you\u2019re peering into a world as opposed to sitting back and having it revealed to you,\u201d says Tania Yuki, founder and CEO of Shareablee, a platform that analyzes social media campaigns.<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Sell Yourself<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What&#8217;s the quickest way to reveal that you have an upcoming single? About to drop your latest album? Better take a Snapchat then. No longer will a tweet or post get lost in the reams of a feed but instead it is there and it available to replay over and over and over.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Worth the Watch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a social media platform it is highly different from Twitter or Facebook, you can speak your mind and do a whole craze of things and it doesn&#8217;t get plastered all over your &#8216;friends&#8217; or &#8216;followers&#8217; screens. The art of choosing who you wish to watch is one of the key elements that brings in the participants.
