Besides Tumblr, Snapchat another social media platform (mentioned in my previous blogs), has also been classed \u2018basic\u2019 because of the dog filter which mainly girls commonly use and get called provocative names because of the filter of a selfie.<\/p>\n
With the increased amount of internet consumption, the majority of the users are all becoming like one another, meaning that eventually people will look and act the same because of what they see on social media. Women seem more easily influenced\u00a0and motivated to look and feel beautiful because of the internet. But because of the lack of originality in today\u2019s society, it makes those people who follow trends ‘basic’.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, what about the perspective of the females classed as ‘basic’? Women have their sets of reasons to why they follow trends. Perhaps to feel included in society. Or maybe, it is because of this gender segregation, and how this gender inequality makes them feel not a part of a community?<\/p>\n
Overall, women get\u00a0classed \u2018basic\u2019 for following the trend. Maybe classed \u2018hipster\u2019 for not. Either way, the female plays a huge role in today\u2019s society, because whatever they do, it draws attention regardless anyways!<\/p>\n
