Hello, my name is Lois Watkins a 20 year old student originally from Oxfordshire, now living in Bournemouth as I attend University here. I am in my second year studying BA (Hons) Communications and Media, for part of an assignment I am required to create and share content centred on a key social issue that has been impacted by web and mobile communications.
I have chosen to explore the topic of Social Media Obsession. This is a current issue within todays society, and I am going to be delving into the reasons why. The amount of teenagers that are obsessed with their screens is larger than ever – but do we ever stop to think about why? I will be using my own experiences to inspire the content within this blog, as well as further research as I believe that is is an issue that I can relate to on many levels. I wouldn’t like to necessarily label myself as ‘Social Media Obsessed’, however it would be true to say that my life would be very different without it.
