My name is Georgina and I am nineteen years old. I was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and I am now a second year Media and Communications student at Bournemouth University. For my course I have created this blog to talk all things <strong>Feminism<\/strong>. I am going to be focussing on\u00a0current events and the effects the media has on the perception of feminists, particularly social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The name for this blog came up after A LOT of thinking. As this blog is attempting to change the negative perceptions of feminists I felt that a blog name with the word feminist in it would result in my blog not being read by anyone. However feminists are all about female empowerment so why should I not be proud of this? so the name FEMINIST AF (Feminist As F*ck) came up. To clear up for anyone who has not heard of the slang abbreviation &#8216;AF&#8217; means &#8216;As F*ck&#8217;. I felt that the abbreviation and phrase would catch more young peoples attention as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I hope you enjoy reading my posts and always feel free to comment your opinions and views.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>&#8221;I call myself a feminist.
