You can pretty much do anything online these days. The Internet has allowed the services to be provided creating shortcuts in life to make anything easier; from booking appointments through to online banking, it covers the lot.
In the modern day, you no longer must go to the bank to cash the cheque your Nana sent you in the post for your birthday, or take cash out to give to a friend for that Wagamama’s they covered you for, you can do it all online. Internet banking to pay your bills in your pyjamas, saving you time and effort, as it is available 24/7! Mobile banking allows you to send money from your mobile straight into your friend’s account with a few taps of the screen, not that you even need to nowadays as in most establishments you can pay via Apple or Android Pay, so the money comes straight off your phone. You can also do other adult-y things online, such as paying taxes, getting student finance, booking a doctor’s appointment and ordering your weekly shop!

As I just mentioned, the Internet also allows us to Online Shop. This is a very dangerous thing for us twenty-somethings who think it is a good idea to buy a new dress when you come home from Cameo and someone has spilt a drink down you and you think you deserve it! With all the high street shops having websites such as New Look, Boots and Apple as well as online only shops such as ASOS and Amazon, you don’t only not have to leave your home, but you also are spoilt for choice. It also allows you to make informed purchase decisions. By researching what is available, without walking to every shop, you can choose the best product and price. Once you have bought this amazing outfit, you can also post a picture of it to social media to show family and friends. This allows you to keep in touch with your personalised community as well as maintain your relationships.
You can organise travel online either by booking flights or train, depending on how far you want to go, or you can just day dream about the concept while doing your assignments –I heard you can fly to Cancun for just shy of £400 at the end of Jan… not that I was looking while writing this! Even while you’re on this holiday, you can use online services like Trip Advisor to see where the best restaurants are and Google Translate to understand the menu!
When people say you can do virtually anything online in the modern day, they are virtually correct. The accessibility to services is more than ever before and the opportunities keep growing and making the lives of the masses easier and faster.
