The rise of the World Wide Web has brought the endless amount of social media. Social media such as Facebook, twitter and older sights such as Bebo and MySpace allowed for teens and adults to create accounts. These accounts allow users to show friends and family what they have been up to, what their likes and dislikes are and its also a place to upload pictures. \u00a0And so&#8230; as\u00a0digital takes over the world, millions of people have taken themselves onto the World Wide Web. Our lives \u00a0are slowly beginning to revolve around the internet- however do we really\u00a0know the dangers of being online?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-200 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/facebook-748885_1280-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"347\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/facebook-748885_1280-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/facebook-748885_1280-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/facebook-748885_1280-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/facebook-748885_1280.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 347px) 100vw, 347px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to anti-bullying pro over the last three years there has been an<strong> 87 %<\/strong> increase in the number of Childline\u2019s counselling sessions about online bullying. \u00a0As well as this it is \u00a0estimated that <strong>5.43 million<\/strong> young people in the UK have experienced cyber bullying, with <strong>1.26 million<\/strong> subjected to extreme cyber bullying on a daily basis.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.childline.org.uk\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-199 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/3043634991_d5df9afdb1_o-300x134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/3043634991_d5df9afdb1_o-300x134.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.blog.buprojects.uk\/2016-2017\/bethanyfoord\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2016\/09\/3043634991_d5df9afdb1_o.jpg 311w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The ever changing digital world is somewhat faulty with the dangers it brings.\u00a0We should be able to embrace and enjoy opportunities that the digital world can give us without having to worry about being harassed and abused online. There appears to be nothing that can stop it, however I hope that I can provide some sort of information that will be of use to you all. As I mentioned the\u00a0statistics are harrowing, it is vital that things change.
