Trump’s an Electorial Chump

How can someone who has openly and publicly called women “Fat, pig, disgusting animal and dog” be the next president of the United States of America?

What a chump!

It baffles me that someone who can be so openly rude and out right patronizing can also be a president, and not just any president but the president of the most “influential” country in the world. He openly used these words to refer to women and has been called out on various occasions and throughout the media for his language, which objectifies women. Donald Trump says things about women publicly that should be considered socially unacceptable but instead he is encouraging sexist behavior among his supporters, whether he knows it or not.

When I saw the results of the election on the morning of the 8th of November, I actually found myself unsurprised about who the new president will be. The result of the election just goes to show that if the newest president of the United States can talk about women the way he pleases, without any consideration for who may be listening, then what kind of message is that sending out? Not just to other men who will now think it is okay to refer to a women as a pig or a dog, but how women will think this is the norm, that it is okay to be spoken about in this way. It is certainly not! We should not be condoning this behavior.

People are still so wrapped up the “traditional” way of thinking that they themselves believe that a women couldn’t run the country because “the presidency is a man’s job”. This is what a Trump supporter told a reporter at one of the Trump rallies. The Guardian revealed that 53% of white women voted for Trump in the election. It is the educated voting for Trump too. 45% of white female college graduates had voted for him. I find these figures shocking, as the man is a chauvinist…yet women still had the audacity to vote for him.

He always seems to have a strong opinion on what women should and shouldn’t be able to do, whether it is politically, socially or physically. He’s got his own idea on what it is to be a women and it is very skewed. There are always comments he makes, particularly on women’s appearance, I’ve noticed. He is a shallow human being. Throughout the last few years saying abominable things such as “ a women who seeks abortion should be subject to some kind of punishment”.

He seems to think that he should be able to make decisions on behalf of all women, like he knows them so well and can relate?

Following the recent presidential election, there was a lot of back and forth between Trump and Hillary. Trump said about the other presidential candidate, “Do you think she looks presidential? I don’t think so.” I wonder, how does someone look presidential? I wonder if this is purely based on the fact that she is a woman??? There is no written rule but Hillary sure looks more like a president to me and is certainly more qualified for the job.

During the debate he also referred to Hillary as “the devil”. In my opinion this is no way to refer to another person, let alone another candidate. Trump feels the need to put women down in order to look more powerful. He does not seem to filter his thoughts. He speaks before he thinks and by that stage it is too late, it’s all out in the open. I don’t believe that someone who cannot control what he says will be able to make rational political decisions! There is just no way…

  1. An interesting read. Trump being elected president certainly does feel like a step backwards for women and the U.S.A.! It’s most saddening to hear how many woman voted for him! Keep the spotlight on chauvinists like him. We shouldn’t allow his behavior and comments to become acceptable.

  2. This made me chuckle! I love how the layout of your blog post! Nice start! Looking forward to your upcoming posts!

  3. This is such an insightful post, Bianca. It’s great that you’ve conducted so much research to include within your content, as I didn’t know that 45% of college-educated women voted for Trump.

I can’t wait to read more!
