My name is Andrew and I’m a second year Communications and Media student at Bournemouth University. Originally from Maidenhead, Berkshire, I descended on the coastal town of Bournemouth to further my education… and also to go to the beach here and there.
This blog was created with the intention of exploring the ways social media puts pressure on our lives. Nowadays, it is almost unheard of for someone to not be active on at least one form of social media, whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc… Sadly, social media isn’t perfect. It has a huge list of benefits, such as the ability to easily communicate with someone across the globe, but it also comes with it’s drawbacks. That’s what I will be exploring through this blog. From celebrity culture to mental awareness, I will be drawing upon real life examples and real life people to see the extent to which social media is affecting our lives.
I will be very grateful for feedback you, my readers, may have on the issues and topics I will be discussing. I also encourage you to voice your own opinions, as well as any suggestions or ideas you have in the comments sections below the posts. You can also contact me through Facebook and Twitter, which I’ll link below.
So I hope you enjoy your time here, and most importantly, I hope what I write a post makes you think. If you leave my page pondering upon what you just read, then I know I will have done my job!
Andrew
